Essential Duties And Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse will conduct in-service classes for Home Health Aides (HHAs), following DOH & OMIG guidelines for a Licensed Home Care Service Agency (LHCSA). Specific duties and responsibilities include:

Assess HHAs in the classroom at the start of the class making sure they are in uniform, in proper shoes, have nails of proper length, and wearing masksInitiate a good environment to promote teaching, taking time to explain topicsSupervise HHAs use of Durable Medical Equipment while demonstrating proper body mechanicsAble to review the material and present it in a knowledgeable, concise mannerAble to grade all exams, and give tutorials to students that are having difficulty grasping the topicsEducate HHAs about standard precautions, OSHA, health maintenance, and disease prevention.Other related duties as assigned

EDUCATION And EXPERIENCE

NYS licensed and currently registered as a Registered Professional Nurse requiredA minimum of one (1) year of experience in home health care preferred
