TRC is currently seeking a Drone Pilot / UAS Survey Technician to join our team in Richmond, VA. This role requires a candidate who can perform various duties involving UAV flight experience with multiple sensors, including LiDAR and Photogrammetry. The ideal candidate will utilize software tools like CAD and Pix4D to produce a range of survey deliverables, while effectively communicating with both internal and external stakeholders.

Skills
Demonstrated prior UAV flight experience with various sensors, including LiDAR and Photogrammetry
Proficiency in CAD, Pix4D, and other UAV industry software
Effective communication skills with internal and external stakeholders
Strong mechanical and computer skills
Ability to create, manage, and execute flight plans
Responsibilities
Perform UAV flight operations and produce survey deliverables
Conduct pre and post flight airworthiness inspections
Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders
Train others in the use of UAVs and support flight planning
Qualifications
Current FAA Part 107 certification
Experience serving in various UAV technical capacities
Knowledge of UAV mechanics, equipment inspection, maintenance, and repair
Minimum of 3 years as a UAV Survey Technician preferred
Understanding of FAA rules and regulations
Good written and verbal communication skills
Valid driver’s license
Education Requirements
Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent
Graduates from an ABET accredited land surveying or geomatics curriculum, GIS related field of study, LIST, or licensed professional land surveyor preferred
Education Requirements Credential Category
High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
Experience Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience as a UAV Survey Technician
Proven experience in UAV flight operations and maintenance
