Our Client Our client, a pioneer in aerospace innovation, is seeking a highly skilled Aviation Systems Engineer to join their dynamic team in Austin, Texas, US. This hybrid role requires a blend of on-site collaboration and remote flexibility, focusing on the design, integration, and testing of complex avionics and aircraft systems. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of aerospace engineering principles and a proven ability to manage intricate system requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Define, analyze, and manage system requirements for aviation platforms. Develop system architecture and design specifications for avionic systems. Integrate hardware and software components to ensure seamless system functionality. Perform system testing, verification, and validation activities, both in simulated and real-world environments. Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams (electrical, software, mechanical) to resolve design challenges. Troubleshoot system-level issues and implement effective solutions. Develop and maintain system documentation, including requirements documents, design specifications, and test plans. Ensure compliance with aviation industry standards and regulations (e.g., FAA, EASA). Conduct trade studies and technology assessments to identify optimal solutions. Support system deployment, field testing, and customer integration efforts. Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes and tools.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in systems engineering within the aviation or aerospace industry. Strong understanding of avionics, control systems, and communication systems. Proficiency with systems engineering tools (e.g., DOORS, Cameo, MATLAB/Simulink). Experience with requirements management, system design, and V&V processes. Knowledge of aerospace standards and regulations (e.g., ARP4754, DO-178C). Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, balancing on-site and remote collaboration. Familiarity with simulation and modeling techniques.
