Clinical Specialist, Spinal Cord Stimulation

iMerit is seeking a US-based Clinical Specialist with hands-on spinal cord stimulation (SCS) experience to support a specialized clinical data annotation pilot. In this role you will apply your neuromodulation expertise to review and classify Evoked Compound Action Potential (ECAP) waveform data collected during spinal cord stimulation. This is a signal and waveform classification engagement that draws directly on your clinical familiarity with SCS therapy and neural response signals.

Project Overview The ECAP database consists of families of ECAP recordings captured across a range of stimulation amplitudes and reviewed in a purpose-built visualization tool. You will review these waveform families and growth curves, apply project-specific heuristics provided by the ECAP team, and classify whether a valid ECAP response is present or not present. The pilot validates whether trained specialists can follow the annotation instructions and heuristics consistently before the activity is scaled to production.

Key Responsibilities

Review ECAP waveform visualizations, including growth curves and families of ECAP recordings collected across stimulation amplitudes.

Classify each waveform instance as ECAP Present or ECAP Not Present using the project’s defined heuristics.

Evaluate related waveforms together to support consistent, context-aware classification decisions.

Learn and operate a custom visualization and annotation platform developed by the project team.

Record annotation decisions accurately and flag ambiguous cases for team review.

Participate in calibration and quality-review discussions throughout the pilot phase.

Required Qualifications US-based, with authorization to work in the United States.

Direct clinical experience with spinal cord stimulation (SCS) or neuromodulation therapy; for example, as a field clinical specialist, device representative, or SCS programmer.

Familiarity with neural response signals and waveform morphology (peaks, troughs, amplitude variation, and noise).

Comfort reviewing waveform and signal visualizations.

Strong attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to follow complex written instructions and heuristics consistently.

Preferred Qualifications Experience with ECAP-based (closed-loop) SCS systems.

Prior experience with structured data annotation or labeling workflows.

Experience reviewing other biomedical signals such as ECG, EEG, EMG, or related time-series data.

Experience participating in calibration, pilot, or quality-review cycles.

Familiarity with regulated data-handling and documentation expectations.

What Success Looks Like Successful specialists will demonstrate consistent, repeatable application of the ECAP heuristics, accurate use of the visualization tool, and reliable Present / Not Present classification across waveform families during the pilot.
