Instructors only, or people who want to be. Ask the dumb question here rather than in front of your student. That is the whole purpose.

For instructors thinking about the MEI. It is the fastest add-on to pay for itself that I know of. Multi students are fewer and the rate is roughly double, and every school I know is short of MEIs specifically. If you are sitting at a school with a Seminole and no MEI, that is a gap with your name on it.

Last week as a CFI. Two years, eleven students, and one bust that was as much mine as his. If you are new to instructing, the bust will teach you more than the passes and it will not feel that way for about six months.

Student on lesson 14 still could not hold heading in the pattern. Turns out he had been staring at the instruments the entire downwind. A piece of paper over the six pack fixed it in one flight. Sometimes the problem is not the skill.

Chief instructor problem I have not solved. Two of my CFIs are excellent teachers and terrible at paperwork. Two are the reverse. The paperwork ones have never had a student fail a checkride. I do not love what that tells me.

Wrote my first endorsement today and read the AC three times before I signed it. Does anyone else keep the exact wording taped inside their logbook?

Instructors, when you sign a recommendation you are telling me you would be comfortable if this applicant flew your family somewhere. If that sentence gives you pause, do not sign it yet. I would much rather meet them a month later.
