Panel upgrades, wiring archaeology, ADS-B, autopilot gremlins, and the long slow argument about whether to fix the old box or replace the whole stack.
Post the aircraft, the year, and what the previous shop did. Half of every avionics problem is somebody else's undocumented work.

post the aircraft, the year, and what the last shop did to it. no exceptions. i have watched three threads waste a week because nobody mentioned the airplane had a 2011 upgrade that moved half the ground points

2004 Cirrus SR20, autopilot disconnects in moderate turbulence but only in altitude hold, never in heading mode. Shop says it is the servo. That does not match the symptom to me but I fix software for a living, not airplanes. Am I wrong?

apprentice question, sorry if its dumb. why do we torque a connector to spec and then safety wire it, if the torque is what holds it? feels like belt and suspenders and i want to understand instead of just doing it

the ADS-B rebate window is long closed and i still get one call a month from an owner who thinks he has until next year. if your airplane is not equipped it has not been legal in rule airspace since january 2020. please
