Wildlife report from the airfield. We have relocated 31 ground squirrels this month, replaced 400 feet of perimeter fence, and had one very determined coyote. Nobody thinks about this when they think about airport operations. It is roughly a third of my job and it is the third that keeps engines intact.

Tore down an engine after a bird ingestion once. Whatever the wildlife budget is, it is cheaper.

The coyote at my home field has a name and a following and I do not think anyone is trying very hard to remove him.
