Ran the numbers on going commercial next. At my rate, part time, it is about 14 months and the price of a very used car. Eight years ago I would have called that irrational. Now I have a spreadsheet with a column called "worth it anyway" and it is the only column that matters.

The column called worth it anyway is the whole industry. Nobody who is good at this got here by optimising for the money.

I left a salaried job for this and did the same math. The spreadsheet says no and the spreadsheet is missing a variable.
