Owner question I answer weekly. Hull insurance on a 200,000 dollar single is not priced off the airframe, it is priced off you. Same airplane, two owners, and the premium can differ by a factor of three. Recurrent training, time in type, and an instrument rating move it more than anything on the aircraft.

Priced off you rather than the airframe. Just made my instrument rating feel like it paid for part of itself.

And it is why I tell every owner to do a proficiency flight with an instructor twice a year even when nothing requires it.
