A student in the box today apologised to me four times in one session. I stopped the sim and told him the apologies were costing more attention than the mistakes were. He flew the next hour clean. Half of instructing is deciding which problem is actually the problem.

I have watched a student talk themselves out of a perfectly good approach with nothing but self commentary. Stopping the sim was the right call.
