The Portfolio Architect owns technical decisions and direction for their portfolio, driving the design of cloud-native solutions that incorporate AI/ML capabilities and modern engineering practices. Designs applications and platforms required to automate business processes and meet business needs as integrated solutions that may run on multiple platforms and be composed of multiple software packages and custom components. Assumes overall technical responsibility for the success of solution construction, implementation, and system integration.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Architectural Design: Develop and maintain architectural blueprints for software solutions, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical standards. • Cloud Integration: Leverage AWS services to design and implement cloud-based solutions, including EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, ROSA and more. • Engineering Excellence: Lead and model high-quality software development practices, ensuring code quality and best practices across assigned projects. • Technical Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to development teams, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and operations, to define business needs and ensure seamless integration and delivery of software solutions. • Performance Optimization: Identify and address performance bottlenecks, ensuring applications run efficiently at scale. • Security: Implement security best practices to protect data and applications, including encryption, access controls, and compliance with industry standards. • Documentation: Create comprehensive documentation for architectural designs, development processes, and operational procedures. • Keeping abreast of, recommending and driving new technologies towards implementation and adoption. • AI Architecture: Define AI/ML architectural patterns and guardrails for the portfolio, including evaluation and selection of GenAI platforms, LLM integration approaches, and agentic frameworks. • AI-Assisted Development: Drive adoption of AI-assisted development practices and tooling across engineering teams.
