This job is within the American Airlines Credit Union. The role is r esponsible for working with the real estate lending team supporting first and second mortgage originations for properties nationwide.

What you'll do

• ​Apply all internal underwriting guidelines, secondary market requirements, and federal regulations to the decision process to ensure loan quality

• Analyze and verifies employment profile, credit strength, property characteristics, and all other information pertinent to the credit decision process

• Review and approve property valuations

• Review and approve title and survey documents

• Analyze individual, joint, and business tax returns

• Communicate required conditions/stipulations and provide assistance to expedite the final approval

• Interact with other individuals involved in the process to obtain information or seeks clarification about documents

• Adhere to turn time objectives

• Provide strong/clear communication to all parties involved in the loan process regarding requirements

• Review and ensure data integrity to confirm the accuracy of the AUS findings

• Complete concise and accurate conditioning of loan files

• Compile HMDA data aggregation and report compilation

• Assist with quality control findings/reviews

• Maintain a current knowledge of changing legislation and regulatory climates

• Keep lending team up to date on secondary market lending guidelines and DU enhancements

• The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring the security and confidentiality of all account and related information which is part of their work and for ensuring that his/her work is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act.

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

• ​ High school diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

• ​Bachelor’s degree in Business or related area of study

• 3 to 5 years relevant experience in a financial/banking institution with strong knowledge of real estate lending products, processes, policies and services

• Experience in conventional underwriting and appraisal review

• Experience and knowledge of federal/state laws pertaining to real estate lending and understanding of recent FNMA guidelines and QM/ATR regulations

• Experience with Fannie Mae Desktop Underwriter

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

• ​Skilled in Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)

• Knowledge of loan origination/processing systems, Mortgage Cadence (formerly Prime Alliance), Episys, and Meridian Link

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

• Ability to manage projects in accordance with short and long range objectives

• Ability to self-motivate with strong organization skills and capacity for attention to detail

• Ability to effectively prioritize work and meet deadlines

• Ability to adjust work schedule and work additional hours as needed to support business needs

• Ability to maintain satisfactory performance and attendance

• Ability to pass applicable American Airlines and Credit Union pre-hire compliance checks
