Since 2004, Air Ventures Hawaii has been flying visitors over the Garden Isle in our fleet of eco-friendly Airvan, showcasing the Maui Coast, Waimea Canyon, and the 70% of Kauai you can't reach by car. We're a small, tight-knit team based at Lihue Airport, and everyone who joins us becomes part of the 'ohana. We're now looking for an experienced A&P Mechanic with a current Inspection Authorization to keep our fleet safe, airworthy, and flying.

About the Role This is a hands-on maintenance role with real ownership. You'll be responsible for keeping our Airvan fleet in top condition and will oversee one additional A&P mechanic. As our IA, you'll perform annual inspections, sign off major repairs and alterations, and be the final word on airworthiness for our aircraft — no waiting on an outside inspector or flying someone in.

What You'll Do

Perform annual and progressive inspections on our fixed wing fleet (Airvan aircraft) Approve major repairs and alterations and return aircraft to service (sign Block 7, FAA Form 337) Supervise and mentor one A&P mechanic, coordinating daily maintenance work Diagnose and repair airframe, powerplant, and systems issues Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure full FAA Part 43/65 compliance Manage parts ordering and vendor relationships Coordinate maintenance scheduling to minimize downtime for our tour operations

Requirements

Current FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate Current FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) — required 3+ years of hands-on fixed wing maintenance experience Working knowledge of 14 CFR Parts 43 and 65 Strong recordkeeping and documentation habits Ability to work independently and supervise junior staff Valid driver's license

Preferred

Experience with GippsAero GA8 Airvan or similar single-engine utility aircraft Prior experience in a Part 135 air tour, charter, or small GA operation Familiarity with neighbor-island/remote maintenance logistics (parts lead times, etc.)

Why Fly With Us Work at one of Kauai's most established air tour operators, based right at Lihue Airport. Real autonomy, a small team that feels like family, and the chance to keep some of the best-loved aircraft on the island flying safely for another 20 years.
