Job Summary Inspectors perform preliminary, hidden-damage, in-process, and final inspections of aircraft in accordance with current technical data, airworthiness directives, FAA approved practices, and company policies. Responsible to the Chief Inspector and/or Director of Quality. Must be current on all FARs, DFARs, Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, and internal policies and procedures, along with developing methods and inspection process under supervision of Chief Inspector. Must be appropriately certificated mechanic under FAR Part 65. Key Responsibilities • Ensure thorough familiarity with inspection methods, techniques, equipment, tools, and aids, and maintain expertise in skills required for work being inspected • Ensure all equipment and tools are within calibration and have calibration dates affixed • Understand current specifications involving tolerances and limitations • Properly perform and record inspection. Ensure proper execution of records before returning article to service • Ensure work areas are clean, free from foreign object debris (FOD), and well-maintained • Ensure mechanics are completing quality work per company standards, policies, and manuals. Report deficiencies to Chief Inspector immediately • Ensure only properly authorized technicians are working, signing or stamping work cards • Maintain constant attention to all maintenance on assigned line to adhere to RSM and Safety Manual • Ensure all materials are allocated to correct job and project number
Requirements • License: Must be appropriately certificated mechanic under FAR Part 65 – A&P Required • Experience: 10+ years of experience required • Required Skills: • Must have ability to read, write, and speak English • Current knowledge of FARs, DFARs, ADs, SBs, and inspection methods and processes • Expertise in preliminary, hidden-damage, in-process, and final inspections per technical data and FAA approved practices • Knowledge of calibration, tolerances, limitations, and proper execution of records for return to service • Strong attention to FOD control, safety, and quality standards
• Other: • Must be able to pass FAA/DOT drug and alcohol program including random testing as required by regulations (if applicable) • Any additional duties as assigned
