Seeking a talented Gaffer for a 3-day pilot shoot, paying $150-300/day, exact rates dependent on experience and gear. We're shooting a gritty sci-fi action pilot, think a grounded, practical effects approach with some intense fight sequences. This isn't a huge studio flick, but we're aiming for a really polished look that belies our independent production status. Your work will be crucial in selling the world. You'll be responsible for designing and executing the lighting setups, working closely with the DP to achieve the desired cinematic vision. We'll need you to manage a small lighting team, ensuring safe and efficient operation of all equipment. You should have your own basic lighting kit, including some stands, flags, and diffusion, but we'll be renting additional specialized units as needed. Please have experience with action lighting and a reel showcasing your work, especially anything with dynamic practical effects or dramatic tension. Shoot dates are TBD in late July, early August, 10-12 hour days. Locations will primarily be in Brooklyn and Queens. We'll provide craft services and lunch daily. This is a chance to help shape the visual style of an exciting new project with a lot of potential.
