As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, testing, and integrating the electrical power generation and distribution systems for JetZero's demonstrator aircraft. You will collaborate closely with systems engineering teams, labs, and technicians to ensure the electrical power system meets all aircraft power requirements and regulatory compliance standards.

Responsibilities for this role include:

• Design, integrate, and test AC electrical power generation systems including engine-driven generators, generator controllers, and associated power conversion equipment

• Review and update AC and DC electrical power distribution system architecture, including electrical load analysis, bus signal configuration, and power routing

• Conduct electrical power system analysis for aircraft power requirements and load balancing

• Develop and review electrical test plans for power generation and distribution; conduct bench testing and in-flight testing on the demonstrator aircraft

• Define electrical power system components and parts list; coordinate supplier selection and technical integration for generators, power conditioners, and distribution components

• Design the aircraft current return path and electrical grounding network strategy, including ground bond analysis and lightning strike protection considerations

• Develop and review electrical system documentation including design specifications, test plans, and failure mode analysis

• Troubleshoot electrical power system test failures and conduct root-cause analysis; implement design corrections and verification testing

• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams (propulsion, structures, avionics, thermal), providing technical guidance on electrical power architecture and system constraints

What You Bring:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, or related engineering discipline

• 10+ years of experience in electrical power systems design for Part 25 aircraft (AC generation, DC distribution, power management)

• Experience analyzing technical data and performance testing for electrical power systems

• Strong ability to troubleshoot power generation and distribution failures and drive root-cause investigations with clear documentation

• Comfortable wearing multiple hats, intellectual curiosity, and strong cross-functional versatility

• Proven track record of system integration and test execution on aircraft programs

• Experience with supplier technical management and oversight

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Direct experience on experimental aircraft or flight demonstrator programs (experimental or similar)

• Knowledge of FAA/EASA electrical system regulations (Part 25 electrical systems, EWIS, lightning and HIRF protection)

• Familiarity with electrical system design standards: DO-160 (Environmental Conditions and Test Procedures), DO-254 (Design Assurance Guidance), ARP4754A, ARP4761

• Advanced experience with power generation, energy storage, and distribution architectures (AC/DC hybrid, high-voltage systems, power electronics)

• Familiarity with digital thread approaches and aerospace CAD/PLM tools

• Background or interest in hydrogen propulsion electrical systems or advanced aircraft power architectures

Compensation:

Our compensation package is a blend of base salary and equity options for eligible employees. The range for this role is $135,000 to $165,000. We consider a number of factors when presenting a final offer, including geography, internal equity and years of experience and expertise.
