· This position is being vacated due to retirement and successful applicant will be provided ample On-The-Job training from the outgoing Director of Safety.
• Developing, implementing and maintaining aviation safety management systems
· Monitoring and advising on all operator safety activities that may have an impact on flight and ground safety
· Establishing and managing the operator hazard identification and tracking system
· Developing and maintaining a safety awareness program
· Monitoring industry flight safety concerns which may have an impact on operations
· Maintaining close liaison with customers, industry partners and safety associations
· Developing and maintaining the emergency response plan, and ensuring it is properly coordinated with the emergency response plans of those organizations it must interface with during the provision of its services
· Analyzing hazard reports and other identified safety concerns and making recommendations on appropriate mitigation
· Investigating and reporting on incidents/accidents, working with functional managers in order to develop the appropriate mitigations, and making recommendations on modifications to the safety management system
· Making recommendations to the operator’s senior management on matters pertaining to the safety management system
· Monitoring the activity in the fields of flight operations, maintenance, crew training, and ground operations, that the standards required by the Authority, and any additional requirements defined by ROTAK are being carried out
· Administering the Internal Evaluation Program as oversight of all departmental audit programs
· Undertaking safety assurance activities and conducting periodic evaluations of the safety management system and reporting the results to management
· Monitoring the response and measuring the results of safety initiatives
· Discussing analysis of measurements with management levels, thereby supporting the decision-making process
· Administering the Drug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Program
· Administering the Occupational Safety and Health Compliance Programs
· Administering the Hazardous Materials Safety Program
· Administering the Safety Training Program
o Provide initial/annual safety training classes o Develop distance delivery safety training modules o Help coordinate annual company training event
· Conducting in-person field audits to determine compliance with company and customer policy requirements
· Attend at least one continuing education event per year (Conference/class/seminar)
