Co-op, Business Strategy, Emergency Response and Safety Compliance (Summer 2027)

Delta Air Lines' Operations & Customer Center (OCC) is seeking undergraduate co-op students for a minimum of three alternating work terms. The OCC serves as the operational command center for Delta's worldwide network and is responsible for both tactical and strategic decision-making during operational disruptions. This co-op opportunity supports the Business Strategy, Emergency Response/Business Continuity, and OCC Safety & Compliance teams. Students will contribute to employee engagement initiatives, communications, learning programs, emergency planning, business continuity efforts, safety campaigns, and compliance activities that help the OCC operate effectively in a 24/7 environment. Key Responsibilities • Support project management activities related to employee engagement, learning initiatives, emergency response planning, safety, and compliance programs. • Document and analyze operational processes and the technology used to support decision-making. • Assist with evaluating learning and training products to identify opportunities for enhancement, maintenance, or retirement. • Partner with cross-functional teams on continuous improvement initiatives and strategic projects.

Business Strategy & Employee Engagement • Support the OCC Business Strategy team by managing and coordinating employee engagement initiatives. • Assist with event planning, logistics, and execution for divisional activities. • Develop internal communication campaigns that promote engagement, learning, and organizational initiatives. • Create and maintain communications materials, including: • Marketing brochures • OCC portal content • Departmental bulletins, announcements, and memos

Emergency Management & Business Continuity Planning • Support Emergency Management (EM) and Business Continuity Planning (BCP) initiatives for the OCC. • Conduct Business Impact Analysis (BIA) updates by interviewing application and product owners to assess operational criticality. • Update, maintain, and ensure accessibility of contingency and recovery plans. • Assist with the migration of OCC operational applications to cloud-based environments. • Support Corporate Emergency Command Center (CECC) planning and response activities. • Contribute to technology enhancements that improve emergency response and business continuity capabilities. • Design and develop micro-learning content to support emergency preparedness and business continuity awareness.

Safety, Compliance & Facilities Management • Update and maintain departmental Emergency Preparedness Plans (EPPs) and Fire Prevention Plans. • Develop and improve processes that support real-time reporting and response to facility failures. • Create storyboards, training materials, and videos supporting evacuation, relocation, and continuity-of-operations procedures. • Validate the accuracy and currency of emergency planning documentation and related resources. • Monitor Automated External Defibrillator (AED) locations to ensure equipment readiness and functionality. • Conduct periodic reviews of first aid stations to verify supplies are available and properly maintained.
