Key Responsibilities • Develop and maintain embedded software applications for aircraft avionics and air-vehicle systems.
• Analyze system and stakeholder requirements and develop high-level and low-level software requirements .
• Translate system requirements into software requirements, architecture, and detailed design.
• Develop, modify, integrate, and troubleshoot software using C/C++ .
• Perform software development in a Linux-based environment .
• Develop software models and architectures using SysML/MagicDraw/Cameo as applicable.
• Perform hardware/software integration and troubleshoot issues at the interface between embedded software and aircraft hardware.
• Support software integration, verification, validation, and testing activities.
• Develop and execute software test procedures and analyze test results.
• Participate in software design and requirements reviews.
• Maintain software configuration, version control, and traceability throughout the development lifecycle.
• Use Git or equivalent configuration/change-management tools to manage software baselines.
• Support DevOps processes and continuous integration/development activities .
• Investigate software defects and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with systems engineering, avionics, electrical, hardware, flight controls, test, certification, and other engineering teams.
• Interface with internal and external suppliers to resolve software and integration issues.
• Prepare technical documentation, reports, presentations, and engineering artifacts.
• Support aircraft-level integration and testing activities.
• Participate in technical reviews and communicate project status, risks, and technical issues to engineering leadership.
• Support continuous improvement of software development processes and engineering practices.
Preferred Qualifications • Experience developing software for aircraft, avionics, aerospace, defense, or other safety-critical embedded systems .
• Experience with Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) .
• Experience with DO-178C / DO-178B software development processes.
• Knowledge of MOSA – Modular Open Systems Architecture .
• Experience with SysML, MagicDraw, or Cameo .
• Experience with avionics communication interfaces and aircraft systems.
• Experience with requirements-management tools such as DOORS or similar.
• Experience with software verification and validation.
• Experience with real-time embedded operating systems.
• Experience with CI/CD, DevOps, automated testing, and software configuration management .
• Experience supporting ground and flight testing .
• Experience working on military aircraft or government programs.
