Position Summary The Aviation Parts Department Assistant is responsible for supporting the daily operation of the Parts Department by receiving, organizing, issuing, and tracking aircraft parts, materials, and supplies. This position plays a vital role in ensuring technicians have the necessary components available to perform maintenance efficiently while maintaining accurate inventory records and regulatory compliance. Primary Responsibilities • Assist with ordering aircraft parts, tools, and maintenance supplies.
• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders.
• Label, stock, and organize inventory in designated storage locations.
• Issue parts to maintenance technicians and accurately record inventory transactions.
• Assist in maintaining inventory levels and perform regular cycle counts.
• Research part availability, pricing, and delivery schedules with approved vendors.
• Process returns, warranty claims, and core exchanges.
• Maintain parts documentation, certifications, and traceability records.
• Ensure proper handling and storage of aircraft components in accordance with manufacturer recommendations.
• Assist with shipping and receiving of customer-owned parts and equipment.
• Keep the parts department clean, organized, and compliant with company procedures.
• Support maintenance personnel with locating parts and expediting critical aircraft-on-ground (AOG) requirements.
• Assist with data entry and recordkeeping within the maintenance management software.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Parts Manager or Director of Maintenance.
