About the Position: Serve as Allen Army Airfield Operations Manager with responsibilities for managing, organizing, planning, coordinating and directing airfield operations on Allen Army Airfield at Fort Greely, Alaska. Allen Army Airfield provides for all four military services, other government agencies, flight detachments, and tenant and transient air traffic.
Duties Serve as the point of contact for airfield continuity of operations. Develop policies and procedures for use of the airfield to meet the needs of all users. Responsible for policy development, implementation, and oversight of the command’s Airfield Quality Assurance Evaluation (QAE) and Self-Inspection programs. Develop, administer, execute, and monitor the Wildlife/Bird Aircraft Strike Hazard (WASH/BASH) Program in accordance with USDA and AR 95-2 requirements. Administer and monitor the maintenance program for all assigned equipment. Is responsible for the policing and maintenance of airfield grounds.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing airfield operations support to include crash/rescue airfield procedures, coordinating aviation weather, and overseeing security operations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
