Job Summary
The Aircraft Maintenance Technician, functions as an FAA certified airframe and powerplant mechanic, performing inspections and repairs of FAA required inspections of all aircraft assigned to the School of Aviation & Transportation Technology. Will utilize Inspection Authorization rating as per FAR 65.95a to inspect aircraft and perform required inspection items (RII), and return to service (RTS) inspection procedures. Will instruct aviation maintenance students as assigned by supervisor or the Director of Maintenance.
Perform ancillary functions relative to the operation of the Purdue University aircraft fleet including: towing aircraft, ground deicing, aircraft cleaning, fueling, hangaring, and security. Assist in recordkeeping functions of aircraft maintenance, FAA regulations, aircraft service bulletins, service letter and manuals. Assist in maintenance of ground support equipment and physical facilities as assigned by supervisor.
The position offers a competitive starting salary of $75,000 annually, with opportunities for growth based on experience and performance.

What We Are Looking For : Education and Experience Qualified candidates will need: • HS Diploma / GED.
• Five (5) years of experience as an Airframe and Powerplant mechanic in aviation maintenance required.
• Federal Aviation Administration Aircraft Mechanic Certificate with an Inspection Authorization Rating.
